About Me
The Guild of Saint Augustine is a not for profit historical reenactment group which portrays the life of the nobility in 16th century England. The goal of this Guild is to educate the public as well as themselves through the use of historically accurate clothing, props, sets, action and speech. The guild of Saint Augustine is a growing group of dedicated individuals who want to bring the Renaissance World to life.
The membership of the Guild of Saint Augustine is currently comprised of 15 to 20 very dedicated and talented volunteers with a wide variety of experience and skills. Every member does extensive research on the characters they portray in order to bring them alive in such a way that they are historically accurate, as well as entertaining. The Costuming and weaponry is thoroughly researched by the members, historically based and in some cases, reproductions from actual portraits.
All this is set against the backdrop of a wonderful and carefully detailed set which consists of several pavilions, period furniture, banners and many colorful pennants.
All these facets blend beautifully, making the Guild of Saint Augustine a realistic, educational and entertaining portrayal of Elizabethan court life on progress.
A great time was had by all at the Tulare County Faire. Sir Walter Raleigh joined us and created quite a stir in court. Lady Stafford nearly fell off her chair.
We are off to Queen Bess and the Pyrates this week. Looking forward to negotiating with all those privateers! Stop by and see us!
We are off and running with an exciting faire schedule this year including two new events for us. We started last month with a great new faire in Lompoc, CA with a tremendous first day attendance of nearly 2000 patrons. We got to play with some old friends and made some great new ones. Looking forward to a great year, come by and see us!
Well met again and I too am looking forward to visiting you in the Shire of Las Vegas
